How to cruise on auto-pilot
I am half awake writing this post so please forgive me for any errors (
As I write in this moment (I'm more awake now :) ), I'm beginning to realize that doing this isn't as hard as I have made it out to be in my head, because the moment I placed the demand on myself to write, though I would rather be asleep and though "I didn't have anything to write" It's all coming together! You know that moment when you feel like your'e on auto-pilot, where everything's working just fine without having to exert so much energy. It's a good feeling and I would like to feel like this more. So here are a few takeaways for me and hopefully you to help sustain this kind of feeling
#1. 24 hours isn't going to change. We all have the same amount of time each day and we have the liberty to chose how we spend it. When we are so focused on how busy we are and how we never have time for anything else it becomes really easy to miss the opportunity of time going by that we can utilize... you know the 4 hour commute to and fro work every day?...the lunch hour at work?...those few minutes we spend trying to find sleep?...It all adds up!
#2. When you feel like you can't, believe that you can and act like it. I've heard it being said severally that behavior influences feelings and vice versa. So what I'm saying is that we allow our behavior influence our feelings and not the other way around...so I felt like I could not write but the moment I hit the keyboard (behavior) my feelings changed, I started to feel like I could write and then I wrote!
#3. Place a demand. This is pretty much giving yourself a target or setting a goal, and it's really important because it drives your behavior and helps guide how you spend your time. If we set goals and commit to them, we wouldn't bother about not having enough time, because how we spend our time and how we behave becomes defined, this one's pretty much got it all covered ( If you have to read this again, just skip to the end :) )
